ADOPTION TIMELINE
July - October: God began gradually laying adoption on our hearts through multiple "nudges" and
promptings and we began praying about what God wanted us to do.
October 2, 2013: Attended an adoption information meeting by Lifeline Children's Services
October 23, 2013: Received confirmation from God that he wanted us to adopt a little girl from
China!
November 8, 2013: Applied to Lifeline Children's Services
November 20, 2013: Accepted into Lifeline's China Adoption program
December 7, 2013: Applied to CASI Foundation for Children to complete our Homestudy
December 9, 2013: Accepted by CASI and began paperwork for our home study
January 20, 2014: Received our referral for a beautiful little girl in China!
February 9, 2014: Completed Homestudy paperwork
February 26, 2014: 1st Homestudy meeting
March 11, 2014: Submitted LOI
March 12, 2014: 2nd Homestudy meeting
March 13, 2014: 3rd Homestudy meeting
March 19, 2014: Final Homestudy meeting
March 27, 2014: Received PA from China!
April 17, 2014: Received final Homestudy report
April 24, 2014: Submitted I-800a application to USCIS
May 16-17, 2014: Yard Sale Fundraiser!
May 29, 2014: Received an update with new pictures!
June 4, 2014: I-800A approval granted!
June 7, 2014: I-800A approval received in the mail!
June 9, 2014: Started dossier authentication process
June 19, 2014: Mailed care package to Emsley
June 23, 2014: Emsley received our care package and saw pictures of us for the first time!
July 2, 2014: DTC!!! (Dossier sent to China)
July 14, 2014: LID!! (Dossier logged-in in China)
July 23, 2014: OOT!! (Dossier is out of translation and on to the review process!)
August 1, 2014: Panda Express Fundraiser
